A revitalized Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging year, managing just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former mentor Cervara.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and first on a hard court since spring of that year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 titles at 21 various events.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.

The player's counter-punching approach and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted observers to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was over.

But the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an improved service.

He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 early opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
