Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of heroes who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look mismatched, but the developments of the third episode show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the team access places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
